Santa Visits the Valley

After driving through the West-Side, Santa will take a short break, and make a run for the Kennebecasis Valley. It's the 11th edition of Rothesay and Quispamsis's Santa Claus Parade. This years event is an Olympic Theme with the torch set to arrive in Quispamsis on Tuesday. Spokes-person Megan Lucas tells CHSJ News, a lot of entries have been able to incorporate the theme into their entry
The parade gets started at six o'clock from the parking lot of Kennebecasis Valley High School.

Saint John West Santa Claus Parade

The first of two parades in Greater Saint John goes this afternoon across the bridge. The 5th annual West Side Santa Parade is set to leave Manawagonish Road at one o'clock. Spokes-person Blaine Harris tells CHSJ News, they will have 90 floats for this years event.
Harris says there is a bit of a change to the route this year with things finishing up at the Sobeys Plaza on Fairville Boulevard.

Accident Sends One to Hospital

A two vehicle accident is resulting in one person spending the night in the hospital.

Rothesay Regional Police tell us the collision happened on the Gondola Point Arterial last night, and the vehicles the drivers were in helped save their lives.
Police say one vehicle deployed 6 airbags, while the other one was fresh off the lot just the day before.
One woman was taken to the hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be serious.
