The dispute over the K-V Fire Department budget might be resolved soon without going to arbitration. Rothesay Mayor Bill Bishop tells CHSJ News he has received a letter from the new K-V Fire Chief Bill Ireland on what he would like to see done and an announcement could be made in a few days time after town council has a looksee.
The dispute is about Rothesay wanting the fire department's budget reduced by 100 thousand dollars. Quispamsis, on the other hand, has been calling for another firefighter top be hired for the fire station within its town limits to put it on an equal footing with the fire hall in Rothesay.
