Crack Cocaine Use On Rise In Last Six Months

Ridgewood Addiction Services is busy helping people in the Greater Saint John area get a variety of monkeys off their back.
Karen Thomas tells CHSJ News there has been in an increase in the use of crack cocaine in the last six months. She has not seen any local cases of crystal-meth addiction. The opiates of choice in Southern New Brunswick are dilaudid and oxycontin.
Ridgewood Addiction Services processses 60 clients a month in a 20-bed unit which is not always full to capacity.
