District 8 Education Council Hears From Student Councils

Student councils from Saint John's four high schools sang their own praises last night. The schools gave presentations to the District 8 Education Council on school spirit, academics and the many charities they help raise money for.
Simonds High council representive Allison White tells CHSJ News they are proud of their involvement with the Teens Against Drunk Driving Program. Saint John High is the only high school in the province allowed to operate it's own budget of $50, 000 a year while Simonds High is the only high school in the city to have a T.A.D.D. (Teens Against Drunk Driving) Program.
Saint John High raised over 6500 dollars for charity including the Joshua Group, Healing Hands for Haiti and the Children's Wish Foundation. Harbour View High School is one of only four schools in the province to take part in Relay For Life which is coming up this Friday.
