RCMP With a Successful Road Safety Week











RCMP is celebrating a successful Road Safety Week.

In 98 check-stops, 22,000 vehicles were looked over and found 36 impaired drivers, 116 people were fined for not wearing a seat-belt and 303 people received a ticket for agressive driving or speeding.

Unfortunately, two people were killed on provincial highways and ten were injured.


At the largest checkstop conducted on the Trans Canada Highway near Salisbury, officers made three drug seizures totalling 75 pounds of marijuana. 30,000 contraband cigarettes were also found.
