Local Muslims Marking End Of Ramadan

At the Mosque here in Saint John, a ceremony will not be held to mark the 9-11 anniversary.

Obaida Sbayi is the General Secretary with the Provincial Muslim Association here in Saint John and tells CHSJ News, Muslims are getting set to finish up the Muslim holiday Ramadan.

Sbayi, has lived in Saint John for two years and says he hasn't personally encountered any prejudice since 9-11 but his wife who wears the traditional Muslim head scarf sometimes feels intimidated. He has heard of some isolated incidents of anger shown toward members of the Muslim community but most has been positive.
