City Transit Commission Wins Energy Efficiency Award

The city's Transit Commission pocketing an award for energy efficiency thanks to their new facility.

Assistant General Manager Brian Thorne tells CHSJ News the new transit centre is designed to generate a large amount of energy savings.

He says the design will generate savings of around 225 thousand dollars a year going forward.

Some of the building's features include motion detector lights that turn off when no one is in a room, solar walls and efficient heating.
