Grounded Ferry Causing Financial Strain For Lobster Fishermen

The grounding of the Grand Manan ferry on Wednesday is having major repercussions for lobster fishermen on the island of Grand Manan.

Toby McLaughlin with Foggy Cove Ventures Inc. says the temporary ferry is too small to comate large trucks carrying product and cannot take as many across as the previous ship.

He tells CHSJ News some of his orders are going to be late and that means his customers could start looking for other dealers.

He says a back-up system should have been in place years ago.
