Memorial Cup Champions Get A Hero's Welcome Home

A hero's welcome for the Memorial Cup champion Saint John Sea Dogs as they return from Mississauga after last night's win. Over 300 fans showing up to welcome the team as they arrived at the Saint John Airport. Dogs Goalie Jacob DeSerres refuses to take credit for the win saying his teammates worked hard. DeSerres tells CHSJ News it's quite a change from last year after losing the final 9-1 when playing for Brandon.

It's no surprise that Dogs president Wayne Long is over the moon calling it a dream come true and they are blown away by the crowd at the airport to greet them today.
The team, its staff and owners got a little surprise as schoolchildren lining Loch Lomond Road with Sea Dogs signs were waiting for the team bus to come by.

The Sea Dogs victory parade begins at noon tomorrow in Kings Square.
