City Files Papers For Pension Reform

The city presses on for changes to the pension plan -- the city has filed papers to the province, asking permission to delay topping up it's employee pension fund.

According to a release from the mayor's office, the province has identified additional options for the city to consider and will continue to discuss the issue.

The proposed changes to the plans will be finalized and submitted for the fall session of the Legislature and in time for the city's budget deliberations. 

The city's is currently facing a pension deficit of about 129-million dollars.
