You are paying more for gas today following the weekly setting and you can thank panic buying which took place last week before Hurricane Irene slammed into the U.S. east coast.

Self serve regular is being sold in the city for $1.27.2 a litre. That's an increase of just under 3 cents.

Diesel has gone up to an even $1.29 a litre.

Propane is slightly more expensive with a listed price of $1.13.8 and heating oil is also up by just under 2 and a half cents a litre at $1.13.7.
