Older Women Need Screening For Breast Cancer Too

Women over the age of 69 will now be targeted to get regular breast cancer screening. Previously, the range was 50-69, but that's being expanded to include women up to 74.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the province. Last year, about 550 New Brunswick women were diagnosed and 110 women died from it. It's hoped that the wider range for screenings will help women detect it earlier.
