With old man winter on his way, common council being presented with the city's Winter Management plan from staff. The city's Deputy Commissioner for Transportation & Environment Services, Kevin Rice says when it comes clearing sidewalks, their goal is finding out what works each year and what doesn't.Rice says, "It may work well in one area of the city but it may not work well in another. We've been trialing those for the last four years and each year we modify, we add more to the list, and we give it a go and see how it works out, and we're always looking for continuous improvement."
Rice says they are ready for the snow, the winter tires have been put on and the plows have been tested.
